Scientific Spring Meeting 2019

The EuroScan Scientific Spring Meeting 2019 will be held in Rome from April 3rd to 5th. This will be a joint activity with the Interest Group of Ethics of HTAi and EuroScan. It is also possible due to the collaboration of the HTA unit of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore) and Policlinico Gemelli.

We will be in good hands as we will be hosted in one of the most amazing cities in the world with a tremendous cultural heritage and a superb scientific background - the eternal city of Rome in the middle of Italy - and . There is a quote that says: “All the roads lead to Rome”, and this is where we go. We know that we will be in good hands as it is well-known that Policlinico Gemelli is the hospital of the Pope. The programme has been developed in conjunction with our Italian organizations (AGENAS and IHSP) and our local hosting institution (UCSC).

The first day (April 3rd) will be devoted to Board Meeting and the 4th and 5th to scientific interaction among members.

The programme will be available shortly and will include the information about the current status of the EuroScan database, the first pilot study, explanation about the tools that have been already implemented and the next steps to be committed will be discussed. It will serve also to discuss further activities to be agreed with partner organizations (HTAi, INAHTA, WHO,…). In fact a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HTAi reflecting the status of EuroScan will be signed during the meeting and new activities that attain the new MoU, proposed and shared with members.

Our hosting organization is one of the pioneers in implementing HTA as a use case and a tool to improve sustainability and transparency in hospital decisions about technologies and their use. Our Italian hosts will not only share their expertise and knowledge but show us how they work and the tools and methods they are using with special focus in Hospital Based HTA.

For members further information on the meeting, the background papers and the organizational development will be available in the member only area.
